My Love Affair

I have to believe that my love affair with the mary jane style shoe came from my dance background.  Those little ballet slippers with the elastic across them....and those flat black tap shoes with the ribbon across them.  Even the grown up tan tap shoe with the high heel had the strap across them.  I couldn't wait to strut around in my high heels.  My mom made me wait until I was in high school before I could get those.  My guess is that it was only natural to have that happy feeling when I met a cute pair of mary janes.

I know psychologists say that there is something wrong with people who find happiness with shopping.  I disagree.  I love to shop for a new pair of shoes.  I don't have buyers remorse because I feel great when I step out with my new find and share it with the world.  I found something that makes me happy.

Disclaimer: my daughter, a future shoe goddess as you can see here, makes me extremely happy too.  Everyone says I light up when I talk about her; I do because she is my heart.

With that said, shoes are the next best thing!  I don't always feel good about my weight or about my hair but if I've got that great pair of shoes on...I'm confident and everyone can see it.

Remember...those shoes are fierce and so are you!
